Meet the team: Head of BD Thom Atkins

Tell us a bit about you:

I grew up in East London and studied Music and Performing Arts at university and college. I’ve spent time living in South America, the US and Asia and have been in property since 2007. I have worked extensively throughout the London property market for a large global firm and have run offices for them in PCL, North London, and South-West London. In my spare time I love sports (literally all sports) and keep active at the gym regularly. I still love music in all forms and spend the bulk of my days now with my three-month-old son – he’s a proper chap!

What has been your highlight of your time with Burbeck so far?

Working with some incredible designers and seeing the projects come together is great fun. I also love the property aspect of what we do, so helping sellers achieve their best price via staging is really a great feeling – some of the “above guide” sales that have been agreed in large part due to our staging is a real highlight.

We know you love to travel, what is your favourite place that you have visited?

So many places to mention; I’m fortunate to have racked up over 60 countries in my travels to date – with a ton more in the pipeline (fingers crossed). But of course a few places standout – I know the question is one, but I’m going to give you three (in no particular order) – Venezuela – beautiful country, under-visited, amazing people and food and some of the most beautiful beaches ever – French Polynesia – island paradise; Bora Bora (need I say more) and then The US – I have some incredible memories of my time there; NY and LA are great, but believe me there’s so much more to see here that you could easily keep yourself entertained there for years.
