London Design Week 2023

Written by Emily Bateson-Roseberry

Why is design week important?

Each year, the event brings together design professionals to find inspiration, providing an opportunity for design professionals to get acquainted with the latest design trends, as well as presenting their work.

This celebration of the new season is a source of inspiration for both trade and design enthusiasts alike. There was abundance of new patterns, palettes, and textures from the biggest names in the industry.

The Interior Design team at Burbeck made good use out of our time at Chelsea Harbour this year. The week was filled with inspiring talks, showroom visits and sourcing new suppliers. We saw businesses Haberdashery, a studio that weaves light through bespoke sculptures to create emotional connections with an audience. We also were lucky enough to see the latest fabric collection of Rose Uniacke. Rose Uniacke's unique collection of fabrics is a curated range of velvet, wool, silk, linen, hemp, and cotton. All of which are perfectly suited to upholstery, furnishings, wall coverings and drapery. We also met with an up and coming fabric designer and upholsterer, Eloise Home.

The team were invited to an exclusive event on the Tuesday evening, and it was an honour to be a part of such an outstanding event, brimming with creative ideas, expertise, and inspiration. We met the team at VitrA and they showed us their latest collaboration bathroom collection, Liquid by Tom Dixon. Inspired by elements of pop art, Tom designed the bathroom range with his signature rounded edges and soft forms. I especially liked the integrated hand-held showering option with an easy-to-use magnetic function.

This year the show was incredible,  and Chelsea harbour is by far the world’s most premier design destination. It certainly celebrates outstanding creativity and has cemented itself as THE unmissable inspiring interiors event of the season. From creative collaborations to sustainable options, Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour champions the design community, sowing the seeds for a bright future.
